For MY 2023 (September 2022 to August 2023), Post forecasts sugar production declining to 2 million MT, nearly 5 percent lower than the current USDA official estimate for MY 2022.
This is attributed to lower fertilizer usage because of rising fertilizer prices leading to lower yields.
