Brazil’s MY 2019/20 sugarcane crush is estimated at 627 mmt, a relatively similar output compared to the MY 2018/19 crop (620 mmt). Late rainfall in February and March will likely offset dry spells in December and January. Approximately 38 percent of the crop should be diverted to sugar, a moderate recovery from record low levels in the previous crop, when only 35.9 percent of sugarcane was crushed into sugar.
