Sugar Annual Report – El Salvador

All of USDA’s sugar reports in one place: a mix of monthly Sugar and Sweeteners Outlooks, import/export data and international GAIN reports. Using data collected by US Foreign Service officers working in more than 130 countries the USDA’S Global Agriculture Information Network (GAIN) reports provide timely information on the agricultural economy, products and issues in foreign countries that are likely to have an impact on United States agricultural production and trade.

Sugar production in marketing year (MY) 20 is estimated at 800,000 metric tons (MT), while production for MY19 has increased to 825,000 MT. Improving international prices have eased the financial pressure on the sugar sector. Although El Salvador joined the Customs Union with Guatemala and Honduras in 2018, sugar was not included in the list
