Ukraine: Ukraine sets zero export quota for sugar to the EU for 2024

By USDA

7th June 2024

Ukraine established a self-limiting trade measure for sugar to create long term trust with its neighbor.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine (MAPFU) announced (Ukrainian) that beginning June 1, 2024, Ukraine will introduce a zero export quota for sugar to the European Union (EU) until the end of 2024. This quota is intended to block sugar exports to the EU, while exports to other destinations will remain unaffected.
